I Copied Whole Foods' Immune Boost Juice Recipe!

While waiting at the new Whole Foods Juice Bar in Brooklyn, NY watching the other customers decide on their orders for morning juice, I was thinking how bummed I was that I was ten minutes late for Whole Food's $1 Happy Hour since I really could have used a wheatgrass shot.  

As I stood there reviewing the juice selection on the menu board, I decided my money would be better spent on a 12 oz juice.  I settled on the the Immune Boost since it's smack in the middle of flu season and hey, who doesn't need an Immune Boost?

I have to admit I wasn't exacty sure what it would taste like, I mean, it had garlic in it and I don't usually juice garlic but I have to say, it was in love at first sip. The juice was sweet and spicy at the once and very very crimson. The drink worked for me on every sensory level. I loved the zip from the combination of ginger and garlic, then the zap from the cayenne.  

Yes, I really, really enjoyed it.

So, I went over to the organic produce section, purchased the ingredients and decided to go home and copy it. I used my flavor imprint as a guide and winged it!  Yay me!

Here's the recipe; 

  • One organic beet,
  • Two organic oranges,
  • 3 stalks of organic celery,
  • Parsley,
  • 1 clove organic garlic,
  • One piece of ginger about the lenth of my thumb.  

Sprinkled a little Cayenne Pepper on top and it's good to go.
